CANO - Tous Dans L'Meme Bateau 1976 (Canada, Prog Folk)

Este grupo franco-canadense é da província do norte de Ontário, onde quase metade da população é francófona. CANO significa Cooperative Artistes du Nouvel Ontario e eles estavam baseados na cidade de Sudbury. Formada em 71, em uma comuna semi-hippie-pastoral e se transformando em teatro, poesia, escritores e um monte de artesãos em um rancho de 320 acres em Buffalo. Esta comunidade atraiu pessoas de todo o Norte de Ontário, Quebec, Acadians do leste do Canadá. Um dos ramos se tornou o grupo musical, e gravou no final de 75 o seu primeiro álbum depois de estarem juntos por mais de três anos.Sua música exemplifica melhor o espírito pioneiro do norte do Canadá, e liricamente, as canções muitas vezes fazem referência à dura condição que eles e seus ancestrais enfrentaram: os voyageurs, o portage de um lago para outro, o comércio de peles, as guerras entre os poderes colonizadores , a vida com os índios, etc. Um octeto, sua música soa como um renascimento mais folclórico e desafiador (era Haslam), mas eles também têm claramente o seu próprio som. Seus álbuns são uma mistura de rock principalmente acústico com algumas atmosferas poderosas, e os dois primeiros álbuns são essenciais para ouvir o folk rock canadense. Seus álbuns tornaram-se cada vez mais elétricos e mais "comerciais" e acabaram sendo dobrados em meados dos anos 80 após seis álbuns.
